Thanks for registering your interest in joining The Ark when we open it ... which will be very soon.
We believe that as human beings we have a duty to leave the world a better place than we found it and nurture it for the generations that will follow.
Part of being human is that we all build knowledge by doing stuff. We do something, we experience it and we learn.
But how many people really know how to do stuff anymore?
Or without the Internet, where to find it if they need it and how to get there if they find out who can do it?
Life has become one of immediacy, convenience, and almost everything is disposable ... including knowledge.
Do you also sometimes feel like the fast pace of life today, with its omnipresent digital world, is sucking the time out of your ability to experience more and gain the type of knowledge that only experience can build?
As a species we've given up so much that defines what it is to be human, and in the process we have become reliant on computer technology and AI to do so much just so that we can (barely) keep up the pace of life today.
If the Internet ceased to exist tomorrow, billions of people would not know what to do with themselves. Many also wouldn't know how to get around or how to find and access information they need. They'd have so much time on their hands they'd probably start to feel insecure; understandably so!
The knowledge of, and ability to do, stuff for yourself is at every level of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, irrespective and independent of computers, AI and whether there is an Internet around.
At The Ark it is our vision to equip people with the tools to build knowledge. Tools in the form of information that has been recorded and passed down through the ages. It has stood the test of time and is still as relevant today as it was when it was first documented, as evidence of how things work.
This and much more awaits you in The Ark!
We look forward to the journey ahead with you.
Kind regards,
The Ark Keymasters
